It is one of the oldest churches in the territory of Šalčininkai district. The church was built in 1770 by Lithuanian scribe Mykolas Skarbek-Važinskis. He settled the Carmelites of the Old Order next to the church, who took care of the parish school, the hospital and the poor shelter, which was established near the monastery in 1809.
The church preserves the altars of the side aisles from the Carmelite period, decorated with wood carvings and mannered figures, and valuable easel paintings such as the Portrait of A. Važinskis, the Portrait of St. John the Baptist and the Portrait of St. John the Baptist. The paintings of St. Anne with St. Peter and St. Paul are also worthy of attention. St. Joseph, St. Mary and St. Joseph, and St. Mary’s portrait with St. Mary and St. Joseph. The painting of St. Joseph and St. Joachim, and the painting of Christ with a reed. There are also distinctive Baroque reliquaries, liturgical vessels, portable altars, a bell cast at the founder’s request at the beginning of the 19th century, and embroidered arnotes.
